TUTORIAL: How to Install MT4 & MT5 on VPS (Windows Server)

STEP 1 — Connect to VPS (Remote Desktop Connection)

Windows PC

1. Press Win + R → type:
   mstsc → Enter
   (This opens Remote Desktop Connection)
2. In “Computer”, enter your VPS IP address.
3. Click Connect.
4. Enter your VPS username & password.
5. You will now enter your VPS desktop.

MacOS

1. Install Microsoft Remote Desktop from App Store.
2. Open it → Add PC → enter the VPS IP → connect.

STEP 2 — Download MT4 or MT5 Installer

Inside the VPS:

Download Metatrader Installer from Broker

1. Open Microsoft Edge (default browser in the VPS).
2. Go to the website of your broker:
   e.g. RoboForex, IC Markets, Exness, Octa, etc.
3. Download MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 platform.
4. Save the installer.

(Most brokers provide modified installers so better use your broker’s website.)

STEP 3 — Install MetaTrader

1. Double-click the installer (mt4setup.exe or mt5setup.exe).
2. Click Next → Accept the license.
3. Choose the install location:
4. Default is fine:
   C:\Programe Files (x86)\… [This is for Metatrader 4]
   C:\Programe Files\… [This is for Metatrader 5]
5. Click Install.
6. Wait until installation completes.
7. Press Finish → MetaTrader will open automatically.

STEP 4 — Log In to Your MT4 or MT5

Inside MetaTrader:

1. Go to File → Login to Trade Account
2.  Enter:
   Account Number
   Password
   Server (e.g., “Exness-Real2”, “ICMarkets-Live09”)
3. Click Login.

If successful → Connection status turns green (bottom right).

STEP 5 — Install EA (Expert Advisor) on Your VPS

1. In MT4: open File → Open Data Folder
   In MT5: File → Open Data Folder
2.  Navigate:
   – MT4 EA Location : MQL4/Experts
   – MT5 EA Location : MQL5/Experts
3. Paste your EA .ex4 or .mq4 (MT4)
   Paste your EA .ex5 or .mq5 (MT5)
4. Restart MetaTrader.
5. Attach EA to chart → enable:
   * Algo Trading / AutoTrading
   * DLL Import (if needed)
   * Allow WebRequest for listed URL :
    + Add New and fill : https://neoforex.net

Your MetaTrader is now fully installed on the VPS and ready to run Expert Advisors non-stop.

IMPORTANT :

• DON’T LOGOUT, JUST CLICK X BUTTON IN THE RIGHT TO CLOSE THE REMOTE DESKTOP CONNECTION>
• IF LOGOUT IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY KILLED THE METATRADER
